When a power outage happens, the UPS systems of the data center take over. But according to the Ponemon Institute, UPS failure is the first cause of data center outages. So, if the UPS system fails, your servers and your data go down. After that, it takes time to restart the servers and the recovery time can really affect your activity.

• Financial aspect. In 2016, according to the Ponemon Institute, the average cost for a data center for one power outage was 740,357$ (and it rises every year!).
• Client aspect. You will suffer from a loss of confidence from your clients and your data center image on the market will be tarnished.
• Material aspect. A power outage can damage your equipment.
• Legal aspect. Problems with power reliability can cause litigations and law suits against your clients.
With all these factors, you can now understand how important it is for your data center to have permanently a great electricity reliability as well as a good disaster recovery plan.
